From the earliest illuminated manuscripts we can see that when the artist depicted a figure they used three fingered hands and toes to depict something that was intended to be seen as distinctly not human. While all intended human figures were depicted with five fingers and five toes. This is why we commonly think of fantasy creatures like dragons as having three toed feet and hands. Pointy ears on elves and tales on otherwise human figures are simply a remnant of the way we embellished our illustrations to accompany the written word.
They used these visual devices to be able to tell at a glance whether the depicted figure was human (and therefore had a soul) at a
    glance.

    Fun fact of the day.

The Simpson's have three fingers and one thumb and most humans have four fingers and one thumb. A thumb is not a finger.

None of that is subliminal. Look up the definition of a word before you put it in the title of your video.

Subtext and subtlety, but not a single example given here of an actual subliminal message.
