I never dream about my day. Actually my dreams never have anything to do with my real life, and hardly ever involve people I know, they never take place in real locations, and usually involve aliens invading.

I think we need a TIFO video on sexsomnia. It sounds rather awful from the little you said on it.

I wonder is schizophrenia is actually a sleep disorder where people dream while awake and don't know it? Is it possible that parts of the brain gradually and randomly slip in and out of sleep states and that's what psychosis is, or what causes the hallucinations or delusions? Has anyone studied schizophrenia in relation to sleep disorders?

Great video. I have noticed that on nights when I don't cannabis before bed I don't have any trouble falling asleep but I often times will have to get up and pee during the night on many nights while I rarely have to get up in the middle of the night if I smoke before bed. It isn't a drastic enough change to make me want to smoke weed every night of the week though. If you smoke weed more than once or twice a week it stops being fun IMO.

I remember being in a vivid dream that my mother was dead so got up, went into her room and there was my mother, looked dead to me. I touched her cheek and started to cry and my Dad woke up, hugged me and took me into the kitchen and dunked my head under the cold tap. Dried me off and took me back to bed. Only once has that occurred again but now 60 years later still remember the dream.

I hear how many people remember dreams in bits and pieces, I remember my entire dream most of the time and it's a story from beginning to end. I can remember conversations, and I have emotions often. I often will talk with people I seem to know very well in the dream state, yet I never met any of these people before in my waking life.

Last night, I dreamt that Kanye West faked his own suicide by driving his car off of a bridge, but he really wasn't in the car. When he came down to see the reactions of the witnesses, they were all upset that he really didn't die. Like, damn.

Another sexomnia sufferer here. It wasn't a big deal in my late teens and early twenties, because it would only ever happen when i had a one night stand with me, and they never seemed to mind. Oddly enough, i would generally manage to put on a condom before having sex, even in my sleep.
Waking up halfway through the act was weird enough, but learning from the girl at the time that she had no idea i was asleep was even weirder.

When i met my wife, my sexomnia proved more troublesome, as i caught her a couple of times where she was not in the mood and not so impressed. She understands now though, and has ways of diffusing the situation.

I have never been able to dream, because as soon as I realize I'm dreaming, I wake up.
I have one clear memory, I dreamed Mt Hood began erupting, and as I watched the ash cloud reversed and went back into the mountain. I realized I was dreaming and woke right up.

I tried to learn how to dream lucidly a while back, and quickly had to give it up. Once I realized I was dreaming and tried to "take control", I would either wake up, suddenly and fully, such that it took ages to fall back asleep, or the dream would become a nightmare. Even now, years later, I have reoccurring nightmares that I started having during that time.

You first state people have no idea why ww dream, then later on share a "scientific" opinion as fact, that its the brains way to file away memories, and the stupidest reason, to make sense of things people did not, or could not do during the day,… … What about people who dont dream?? We end up like Bernard in Westworld and cant tell if living a memory or creating them. "Is this now?"

I always wondered why the step count on my activity tracker counted more steps taken while I was asleep than going out for a 10 Km run when I wasn't… which is about 12,500 steps. 🤣

I remember hearing that being scared ina dream is getting your heart ready for a extremely scary situation so when it happens you’ve already been through it an you won’t have a heart attack when something scary happens. So a dream trains you sometimes.

Was hoping that you would touch on the nightmares associated with combat related PTSD.  I had to shoot and kill a guy, now every night is the nearly the same.  It is either the incoming missiles, the broken and mangled children or the shooting.  I am the third person in my immediate family that has been in combat and all off us suffer from PTSD nightmares, Dad was at Pearl Harbor in 1941, my brother did two tours in Viet Nam in 1966 thru 1968, and I did my combat tour in the Middle East in 1991.  We all have had serious nightmares and sometimes acted out on them.  It would be nice to see you do a video on PTSD related nightmares, both combat induced and others.  I enjoy your videos and it seems that you can learn something new from them, keep them coming.  – – – //es//A 70y/o Avid Outdoors Lady and Veteran, 1965-1994.
